inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Frits Ramandey, Head of the National Human Rights Commission's Papua Regional Representative, expressed his support for the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force, emphasizing the importance of a humanistic, dialogical approach based on respect for human rights.

Frits stated that the social situation in Papua has strong cultural characteristics, requiring security measures to be accompanied by open communication and building public trust.

"A security approach must go hand in hand with a social approach. Intensive communication with traditional leaders, religious leaders, women's leaders, and youth is key to ensuring every policy is fully understood by the community," he said.

He explained that effective communication involves not only conveying messages but also ensuring that those messages are truly understood and accepted by the community. When the community feels involved and heard, he continued, active participation in maintaining security and order will grow.

According to Frits, the principles of accountability and transparency must also be maintained in every field task. With an approach that prioritizes dialogue and respect for human dignity, he is optimistic that the security situation in Papua can continue to be maintained conducively.

He hopes that the implementation of 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force will not only focus on law enforcement but also strengthen collaboration between authorities and the community to support development and improve prosperity in Papua.

"Sustainable security is born of trust. When the community and authorities work together, stability will be strengthened," he said.
