Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A female passenger on Batik Air flight ID-6272 from Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang to Manado in North Sulawesi was removed after claiming she had a bomb, the airline confirmed Thursday (17/4/2025).

The incident occurred on 15 April 2025, during pre-departure procedures. The woman, identified by initials FA and seated in 11E, told a flight attendant she was carrying explosives.

Following aviation safety protocols, the crew reported it immediately to the captain and security officers.  The passenger was offloaded and handed to civil aviation investigators and local airport police for further investigation, according to antaranews.com.

Batik Air Corporate Communications Strategic of Batik Air Danang Mandala Prihantoro emphasized that threats or jokes involving bombs or violence are strictly prohibited under aviation law. Article 437 of Law No. 1/2009 on Aviation prohibits false information that endangers flight safety. Violators can face up to one year in prison—or eight years if operations are disrupted.

After a thorough security check confirmed no explosives on board, the flight resumed safely.
