PASTI Program Proven Successful in Reducing Stunting in Four Provinces

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) said that the Partnership to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in Indonesia (PASTI) program has been proven to reduce stunting in the four provinces that are the focus of the program.

"The PASTI program has been proven to be successful. The good practices of the PASTI program have been tested and the results can be seen, how the reduction in stunting in the four locations, namely Banten, East Nusa Tenggara, East Java, and West Kalimantan is very visible," said Acting Head of BKKBN Sundoyo on Wednesday (10/16/2024).

He explained one of the good practices that was implemented in all regions to reduce stunting is adolescents who educate each other about the importance of readiness for marriage.

Meanwhile, Chief of Party PASTI Program Maria Adrijanti said, until now the progress of the PASTI program has been proven not only felt by the children as the main target for stunting reduction, but also the circle outside it, such as families to stakeholders, at the provincial and district/city levels.

As of September 2024, the PASTI program has reached 3,613 infants under two years old, 5,255 adolescents, of which 3,467 are adolescent girls. PASTI program also holds adult programs such as behavior change communication (KPP) activities, Healthy Kitchen Nutrition Posts to Overcome Stunting (DASHAT), socialization of the Real Implementation Module for the Planned Generation to Prevent Stunting (Ini Genting), mentoring prospective brides and grooms, and increasing the capacity of the Family Assistance Team (TPK).

In addition, the PASTI program has also increased the capacity of 2,483 Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS) members at the sub-district/village and district levels. The PASTI program is also committed to supporting the role and duties of the TPPS as mandated in Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 72 of 2021.

To ensure the continuity of efforts to accelerate stunting reduction in the regions, the PASTI program has also increased the capacity of 107 TPPS facilitators at the district level from regional apparatus organizations.
