Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Presidential Communication Office (PCO) has confirmed that Indonesia’s A-001 presidential aircraft has undergone a repaint and livery change as part of routine maintenance.
“Frankly, I need to check the exact reason behind the color change,” said PCO Head Hasan Nasbi during a public discussion in Jakarta on Saturday (17/5/2025). “But in general, vehicles, aircraft, and ships go through routine maintenance, and repainting or redesigning the exterior is part of that process.”
He urged the public not to overreact or speculate excessively about the change.
“Just like when a black presidential car becomes white one day—it’s not a big deal,” he added, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The A-001 aircraft, previously used by 7th President Joko Widodo, originally featured a predominantly red nose and a fading red stripe toward the tail. The words “Republik Indonesia” were written in white against the red background.
Now, the aircraft bears a design similar to the current presidential jet PK-GRD, used by President Prabowo Subianto. It features a mostly white body with red stripes running above and below the windows, with the top stripe noticeably thicker. The text “Republik Indonesia” is now in black, using a different font.
The change in livery was first observed when A-001 was parked next to PK-GRD at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on 14 April 2025.
