Inp.polri.go.id - Pemalang. The Pemalang Sub-regional Police, in collaboration with the Pemalang Regency Job Training Center (Balai Latihan Kerja or BLK), launched a free job training program for productive-age unemployed residents across Central Java.

The initiative serves as a concrete step by the police force to enhance community skills and assist in reducing regional unemployment rates.

Pemalang Police Chief Superintendent Anggaito Hadi Prabowo said that the Pemalang Police acts as an initiator and facilitator to ensure residents in need can access training tailored to their interests and skill development goals.

"This is part of the implementation of the INdonesian National Police Chief's priority program through the 'Police with the Community' vision," he said on Monday (26/10/2026).

Titled "Police Caring for the Unemployed" (Polisi Peduli Pengangguran), the program aligns with the Pemalang Regency administration’s efforts to expand job opportunities and bolster community economic independence.

Chief Anggaito noted that providing vocational skills helps mitigate potential public security risks).

"Unemployment correlates with security vulnerabilities, so we are taking preventive measures to maintain a safe and conducive environment by helping residents achieve economic self-reliance," he explained.

To ensure accurate targeting, Bhabinkamtibmas community policing officers are conducting door-to-door surveys across villages and urban sub-districts to register unemployed citizens.

The training courses cover diverse fields, including commercial sewing, welding techniques, motorcycle automotive repair, culinary arts, graphic design, residential air conditioning maintenance, and Japanese language instruction for overseas apprenticeship preparation.

Technical instruction will be conducted by professional trainers from the Pemalang BLK, with the Pemalang Police facilitating community enrollment and coordination.
