Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) launched Operation Patuh 2026, running nationwide from Monday through 8 November 2026.

The 14-day operation focuses on fostering driver discipline, cultivating a culture of road safety compliance, and reducing traffic accident rates across Indonesia.

Head of Traffic Corps Brigadier General Aries Syahbudin said that the success of the nationwide operation is measured by positive shifts in public driving behavior rather than the sheer volume of issued citations.

"We do not measure success by the high number of law enforcement actions, but by the change in public behavior toward becoming more orderly and compliant with traffic regulations," he said in Jakarta on Monday (26/10/2026).

Chief Aries explained that Operation Patuh 2026 prioritizes persuasive outreach and educational approaches to build public awareness that traffic compliance directly protects the safety of drivers and fellow road users.

During the enforcement period, traffic officers are actively encouraging essential safe driving habits, including wearing standard helmets, securing seatbelts, observing traffic signs, and eliminating hazardous practices such as driving against traffic flow.

Alongside education, Traffic Corps is optimizing legal enforcement against high-risk violations primarily through Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) technology, supplemented by sympathetic verbal reprimands and ongoing safety campaigns.

It urged all road users to maintain strict driving discipline even beyond the conclusion of the formal operation, aiming to embed safety awareness into everyday traffic culture to maintain safe, orderly, and smooth road conditions.
