inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Bane Raja Manalu said that there are many good things to promote tourism in North Sumatra, such as Lake Toba.
"There are so many good things that can be conveyed to the public to promote the splendidness of Lake Toba," said the council member in charge of tourism in his statement in Jakarta, Sunday (5/25/2025).
Previously, in a tourism seminar in Simalungun, North Sumatra, Saturday (5/24/2025), Bane Raja Manalu invited the people of North Sumatra to spread the attractive things of their tourist destinations to each other in order to advance tourism in their region.
He adds that the development of the digital world must also be optimized by the people of North Sumatra to promote local tourism destinations.
According to him, proper utilization can make North Sumatra attractive to tourists, especially since tourism in this province excels in natural beauty, arts and culture, culinary, and history.
"Build an attractive narration, create a Lake Toba tour package and geosite, cultural festival, and other interesting things," said Bane when giving an example of North Sumatra's tourism promotion efforts such as Lake Toba.
Bane Raja Manalu said that currently Commission VII of DPR is drafting a Bill on the Third Amendment to Law Number 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism with the Ministry of Tourism.
In the bill, he said, one of the discussions is about tourism institutions which also include representatives from the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Works, and the Ministry of Forestry.
"Hopefully it will be realized so that the basic infrastructure of tourism destinations will be much better," said Bane Raja Manalu.
