Inp.polri.go.id - Makassar. In a bold move to elevate the caliber of Indonesian science, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology has begun drafting the "Road to Nobel Prize" program aims to inspire young Indonesian researchers to reach the pinnacle of global scientific achievement by providing direct access to the world’s most prominent scientists.
Minister Brian Yuliarto announced the program during a guest lecture by Prof. Morten P. Meldal, the 2022 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, held at Hasanuddin University on Thursday (29/1/2026).
The Minister said that producing Nobel-caliber research requires not only intelligence but also a shift in mindset, discipline, and international collaboration.
"We want our young researchers to have big dreams. By sending our master’s and doctoral students to work directly in the laboratories of Nobel laureates like Prof. Morten, they can witness firsthand the perseverance, daily activities, and mindset required to change the world through science," Minister Brian said, as cited by antaranews.com.
The government is currently negotiating scholarship and placement slots with top-tier international labs to facilitate this high-level knowledge transfer.
