The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) reveals as February 19th, 2024, there are 1,322 election committee staff who were treated medically. “With the detail of 1,088 people on outpatient, 147 others hospitalized, and 71 others who were caught in accident,” said Bawaslu Commissioner Herwyn JH Malonda on Tuesday (2/20/2024). Furthermore, Herwyn states that his party will continue to monitor the election vote recapitulation process. He also states that the election process is still very much on-going “Particularly on vote and vote recapitulation. There are also repeat vote and repeat vote recapitulation that are on-going in several polling stations,” said Herwyn. “Additionally, regarding follow-up vote due to disaster such as flood are also still on-going in several polling stations. We are also still awaiting the report from the Overseas Election Committee,” adds Herwyn. Moreover, the Ad hoc supervisor who was caught in accidents also provided aids from Bawaslu. Bawaslu states that they will provide aids for election supervisor families who died, permanent disability, and serious injury. “The provision of aids is in accordance to Bawaslu Decree number 11 of 2023 concerning Technical Instructions (Juknis) for Providing Work Accident Compensation for Ad Hoc Bodies,” said Herwyn.
