inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. Police confirmed an explosion at PT Pertamina EP Regional 2 Zone 7 Field in Subang, West Java. The incident occurred at 4:20 a.m on Tuesday (8/5/2025). 

"(The explosion) was caused by a gas leak," explained the Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan.

He said that while employees at Pertamina EP Regional 2 Zone 7 Field in Subang were working when they heard the sound of a gas leak. Upon checking, the gas pipe suddenly exploded. He explained that two people suffered burns as a result of this incident: Asep Andan, who suffered 80 percent burns, and Andi Irawan, who suffered 9 percent burns.

"The victims were taken to Hamori Hospital for medical treatment," he said.

He added that Pertamina EP Regional 2 Zone 7 Field in Subang is still working to mitigate the gas leak. This incident has also resulted in the temporary shutdown of 9,000 residential homes in two sub-districts that use the gas pipeline.
