The joint forces of Indonesian Military Force (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP), along with members of Damai Cartenz Ops continue to bolster its security for the plenary session of General Election Commission (KPU) in Oksibil. KPU plenary session have begun since March 2nd, 2024. Security officials, in this case TNI-INP, are further increasing their security effort in Oksibil to ensure the plenary session process go smoothly from beginning to end. It could be seen that in every road access towards KPU office, there are security officials stationed with full equipment. People who would pass the office of KPU will be asked their ID Cards, and if they don’t have it, they will be directed to cross another alternative road. While the plenary session is ongoing, people’s activity around KPU office is limited by the officials to prevent security disturbances. On the other hand, Damai Cartenz Ops Public Relations Chief, Superintendent Bayu Suseno states that his party continues to coordinate with the regional security forces assigned in Bintang Mountains region in anticipating Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attack. “We from the Damai Cartenz Ops Task Force will continue to collaborate with the regional unit, particularly the forces of TNI-INP in Bintang Mountains, to anticipate security disturbances that might occur,” said Bayu. As of now, police reports states that the plenary session situation in Oksibil, Papua Bintang Mountains remains safe and conducive. (ad/ta/pr/nm)
