inp.polri.go.id - Aceh. The Southeast Aceh Sub-regional Police secured the 16 inmates who escaped from Class IIB Kutacane Penitentiary, Southeast Aceh Regency. Meanwhile, 36 other prisoners are still being pursued by officers.

“From the total 52 escaped prisoners, 16 have been secured successfully in our cells. The rest are still on pursuit,” says the Head of Aceh Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Joko Krisdiyanto on Tuesday (3/11/2025).

Joko adds that the situation in Kutacane Penitentiary has returned to normal following the prison break out incident. To bolster their defense, police personnel have deployed a platoon of Mobile Brigade personnel at the site.

"Currently, the situation inside the prison is under control. We have also deployed a Brimob platoon to strengthen security and anticipate unwanted things," he explained.

He ensured that his staff would continue to pursue the prisoners who are still at large. On the other hand, he appealed to the public to immediately report if they know their whereabouts.

"We invite the entire public to immediately report to the authorities if they see or know information related to the whereabouts of the escaped prisoners. Active participation from the public is very much needed to ensure mutual security," he said.
