Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has ordered Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, to establish a task force for accelerating national waste management, focusing on infrastructure and technology.
“Our cities and districts still face serious waste issues. The public has raised concerns, and we must not remain idle. This is now a priority for the President,” Minister Agus Harimurti said in a press briefing at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday (12/3/2025).
President Prabowo emphasized that waste management requires not only infrastructure and technological solutions but also public awareness.
"Waste should be recycled, returned to producers for reuse, or converted into electricity through incineration," the minister explained, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The task force will also review the implementation of waste-to-energy plants under Presidential Regulation No. 35/2018. President Prabowo has also engaged the environmental group Pandawara for a large-scale cleanup initiative to tackle waste issues nationwide.
