inp.polri.go.id - East Nusa Tenggara. The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police Marine and Air Unit has successfully arrested a man with the initials of AN (28).

AN is a crew ship who stabbed his own colleagues to death. The bloody incident occurred on KMN Amanata 04 Ship on October 6, 2025 at 06.30 am.

The Director of Marine and Air Unit, Senior Superintendent Irwan Deffi Nasution confirms the criminal incident. He emphasized that the perpetrator and the evidence have been secured for further investigation.

“AN strongly suspected of murdering his own colleagues to death,” says Irwan on Saturday (10/11/2025).

It was discovered that AN suddenly attacked his shipmate using a hammer in the ship's kitchen. After failing, the perpetrator went to another crew member's room and found the victim LAS (27) who was sleeping, then stabbed the victim in the left stomach using a knife.

The victim had time to walk to the bow of the ship while holding his wound while saying that he had been stabbed by Andi (the perpetrator), before finally falling covered in blood. 

AN then jumped into the sea to escape, but was chased by the ship's captain after almost four hours of fighting at sea.

Captain GM (29) together with the crew finally managed to catch the perpetrator at around 11.00 WITA. They then tied him to the bow of the ship and decided to return to the Tenau Kupang Fisheries port to report and seek help.

The victim received treatment, but was declared dead on Tuesday night (7/10/25). The next day, Wednesday (8/10/25) at 06.50 WITA, the KMN Amanata 04 ship arrived at Tenau Port, Kupang, carrying the bodies of the victim and the perpetrator.

From the results of the initial investigation, the perpetrator was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) concerning murder, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.

"We ensure that the legal process is transparent and professional. This case has been handled by the Subdit Gakkum Ditpolairud Polda NTT," he stressed.
