Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Depok Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have arrested on Wednesday evening (31/7/2024) the owner of a daycare in Cimanggis, Depok, West Java, for allegedly abusing a toddler.

Depok Police Chief Senior Superintendent Arya Perdana confirmed the arrest of the suspect, identified as MI, following statements from four witnesses and various pieces of evidence.

"The suspect admitted to being the person in the CCTV footage, so there is no denial," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Currently, there is one reported victim, identified as MK (2), who suffered trauma and bruises. The case was lodged to the police on Monday.

The incident, which occurred on 10 June 2024, was highlighted on Instagram account @komisi.co. The suspect faces charges under Article 80, Paragraph 1 and 2 of Law No. 35/2014 on Child Protection, with a maximum penalty of five years and six months in prison.
