Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar.  The Immigration Office in Bali has been intensifying scrutiny of foreign nationals due to a surge in international visitors, which reached 3.89 million from January to July 2024.

Pramella Yunidar Pasaribu, the Head of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Office in Bali, said on Thursday (1/8/2024) that increased monitoring aims to ensure security and comfort for residents and tourists alike.

The number of foreign visitors has risen significantly compared to 2.9 million in the same period last year, according to antaranews.com. Australia leads with 877,329 visitors, followed by India and China.

Measures include detailed document checks and enhanced integrated immigration systems. Thirty new auto gates with facial recognition are being installed at Ngurah Rai Airport, bringing the total to 80.

Despite stricter checks, services remain customer-friendly, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for tourists. From January to July 2024, 258 foreigners have been deported, up from 340 in 2023.
