inp.polri.go.id - Tabalong. The Tabalong Sub-regional Police arrested two methamphetamine dealers identified as AN (29) and AS (39). They confiscated 26.41 grams of methamphetamine from two different locations.
Tabalong Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Wahyu Ismoyo, stated that suspect AN was arrested on the side of a village road after officers received a report from civilians regarding an alleged drug transaction. AN is a repeat offender and had discarded the evidence upon seeing officers at the scene.
"9.34 grams of methamphetamine were confiscated from AN, both at the scene of the arrest and at his home," the Police Chief stated, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday (8/13/2025).
During questioning, Wahyu stated that AN admitted the contraband came from his friend, identified as AS, a resident of Karangan Putih Village, Kelua District. The Tabalong Sub-regional Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Unit then went to AS's house and found five packages of methamphetamine weighing 17.07 grams hidden under a chicken coop.
"The two perpetrators admitted to distributing the methamphetamine because they were in debt and tempted by the potential for large profits," he explained.
The two perpetrators were detained at the Tabalong Police Station and charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) or Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
