"We are currently looking into it," said Bekasi City Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro, when confirmed on Wednesday (8/13/2025).
The study took place in the Dukuh Zamrud housing complex in Mustikajaya, Bekasi City. The study was led by a woman with the initials PY, also known as Umi Cinta.
This religious activity is said to be unlicensed and has been running for eight years. The Umi Cinta study is held every weekend from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WIB.
Residents' unrest grew stronger after a former member of the Umi Cinta study group stated that 70 members were promised entry into heaven for each person who donated IDR 1 million. Members' behavior also changed, with children rebelling against their parents and wives threatening divorce.
