inp.polri.go.id - North Sumatra. The North Sumatra Regional Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate is hunting for an interprovincial distributor of 10 kilograms of methamphetamine.
"We are still pursuing other perpetrators and investigating the possibility of a larger network," said the Director of Drugs Criminal Investigation at the North Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday (8/13/2025).
Jean stated that the methamphetamine traffickers were part of a trans-provincial drug syndicate spanning Aceh and Palembang, South Sumatra. This suspicion arose from the arrest of men identified as SB and BJ at a minimarket on the Medan-Banda Aceh Highway in Gampong Aceh Village, Idi Rayeu District, East Aceh Regency.
"The evidence confiscated from this operation included 10 kilograms of methamphetamine packed in a minibus, a blue suitcase, two cell phones, and IDR 850,000 in cash," he explained.
Jean Calvijn added that interrogation revealed that the suspects obtained the evidence from BJ in Aceh, under orders from a suspect identified as P (a fugitive), to be transported to Palembang.
He stated that the suspects were promised Rp 30 million for each kilogram of methamphetamine successfully delivered, and both had also received Rp 5 million in travel money from the network controller.
