inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. . The Indonesian National Police (INP) Densus 88 Anti-Terror Team arrested two suspected terrorists from the Jamaan Anshorut Daulah (JAD) group in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, Wednesday (9/4/2024). One of the suspects is the Amir or leader of the JAD group.

Head of the Indonesian National Police Public Information Bureau, Senior Superintendent Erdi Adrimulan Chaniago, said the two suspects who were arrested had the initials LHM and DW, and both were arrested in two different locations. DW was arrested on Gajah Mada street, Penarega, Bima, at 08.55 am. Then, LHM was arrested in Pentol, Mpunda District, Bima, at around 09.09 am.

"LHM plays the role of Amir or an lader in the JAD group who often gives Friday sermons with radical themes to the general public and members. He also mobilized members for physical agility activities and mobilized halaqo activities in Bima, West Sumbawa and Lombok Island," said Erdi in a written statement on Saturday (9/7/2024).

Meanwhile, Erdi said that DW played a role in the cadre formation process. The suspect, he continued, also carried out physical training in self-defense, sea swimming in order to strengthen his physical condition in preparation for terror acts. "Both of them took part in mass allegiance to the ISIS group and joined the JAD Bima group," he said.

The evidence obtained from the two suspects was an air rifle and 15 books. Erdi emphasized that the JAD group was determined as a terror group according to the court's decision. Therefore, he hopes that the public will be sensitive and not have anything to do with the group.

In addition, he also asked the public to be vigilant and able to sort out so as not to send their children to educational institutions that provide radical understanding.

"The arrest of the suspect provides facts that the terror group systematically recruits and instills false security," he said.
