Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesian sprinter Karisma Evi Tiarani secured a silver medal in the women's 100 meters T42/63 at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, breaking the T42 world record twice in one day.

In a dramatic final at Stade de France, Karisma, the world’s fastest in T42, competed against Italy’s dominant T63 trio.

Despite not being favored, she took advantage when Ambra Sabatini, the T63 world record holder, fell near the finish line, also bringing down Monica Graziana Contrafatto, according to antaranews.com.

Karisma finished second with a time of 14.26 seconds, setting a new world record after earlier breaking it with 14.34 seconds in the qualifiers. Martina Caironi of Italy won gold with 14.16 seconds, while Contrafatto claimed bronze.
