Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that police officers will only be assigned to civil or non-structural positions if formally requested by ministries, agencies, or the President.
His remarks followed the recent passage of the revised Police Law by the House of Representatives.
“The INP can only serve outside its structure if requested. If not, I will not send personnel,” Chief Sigit said during the Kompolnas–INP Oversight Coordination Meeting in Ancol, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/6/2026)?
He explained that such assignments must align with police functions, including law enforcement, public order, and community protection.
Chief stressed that the regulation should not be interpreted as allowing active officers to take over civil service roles, but rather as a mechanism to support national needs when necessary.
