inp.polri.go.id - Kuala Kurun. A joint team from the Gunung Mas Sub-regional Police, North Kahayan Hulu Sector Police, Koramil, BPBD, the community, and the victims' families evacuated two victims of the landslide in Sei Drajoi, Tumbang Mahuroi Village, Damang Batu District, Gunung Mas Regency, Central Kalimantan. The two victims who are still being searched for are Gadeonsin (57) and Muliadi (51).
The North Hulu Kahayan Sector Police Chief, Second Police Inspector says this evacuation did encounter obstacles due to extreme weather. However, he ensured the party's commitment to continue to make maximum efforts.
"Our main obstacle today is the weather. Heavy rain makes the ground increasingly unstable and endangers the evacuation team. However, the team's spirit remains high," said Muslikin, quoted on Thursday (1/30/2025).
The joint team deployed consisted of 37 people and moved after the rain had subsided. The main focus was to clear fallen tree trunks and dig the area around the victim's place that was buried by the landslide.
Finding a safe campsite around the crime scene is also a priority. Currently, the evacuation team must walk about 1.5 hours from the existing camp to the scene.
Efforts to set up a camp around the crime scene were previously hampered by steep ground conditions.
"We are looking for a safer location to set up camp so that the team can get enough rest and maximize evacuation efforts," explained Sector Police Chief.
