inp.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. The Riau Regional Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate confiscated 6,500 liters of subsidized biodiesel fuel suspected of misuse in Kandis District, Siak Regency. In investigating the case, police named two individuals, identified as FG (24) and SG (27), as suspects.

Riau Regional Police Director of Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, Senior Superintendent Ade Kuncoro Wahyu, stated that the two suspects were allegedly involved in storing and reselling subsidized fuel without proper documentation. Both are currently being detained pending further legal proceedings.

"This case came to light after police received information from the public on Sunday (10/18/2026) regarding alleged misuse of subsidized fuel distribution," Ade said in Pekanbaru on Wednesday (10/21/2026).

Following up on this information, police launched an investigation. On Monday (10/19/2026), officers discovered biodiesel storage activity at a warehouse in Kandis Village, Kandis District, Siak Regency.

Based on initial investigations, FG is suspected of being the owner of the fuel storage warehouse, while SG is suspected of owning a vehicle used to transport or divert subsidized biodiesel.

During the raid, officers seized several pieces of evidence, including 12 storage tanks, each with a capacity of 1,000 liters. Five tanks were found to contain diesel fuel, while the other seven were empty.

Police also confiscated 60 jerry cans, consisting of 55 containing diesel fuel and five empty. Other evidence included seven hoses, a machine, scales, buckets, and a vehicle suspected of being connected to the activity.

Based on preliminary investigations, the two suspects are suspected of purchasing subsidized fuel at a lower price and then storing it in the warehouse to resell at a higher price.

For their alleged actions, FG and SG were charged under Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas, as amended by Law Number 6 of 2023, in conjunction with Article 20 letters C and D of the Criminal Code.

"Both suspects face a maximum prison sentence of six years and a maximum fine of IDR 60 billion," said Ade.

The Riau Regional Police emphasized that this case was being handled to address alleged misuse of subsidized fuel distribution. Law enforcement is expected to ensure that subsidized fuel is used according to its intended purpose and is not misused for personal gain.
