The arrest was led by the Head of the Sarmi Sub-regional Police Narcotics Unit, First Police Inspector Yulianus Okoseray, along with the Head of Intelligence, First Police Inspector Francisco Monim, and the Criminal Investigation Operations Team. As a result of the operation, officers successfully apprehended two suspected drug abusers, FU (26) and YN (25).
Yulianus confirmed in a statement that his unit uncovered a marijuana drug bust on Friday, August 15, 2025, at approximately 5:20 PM in the Kelapa Satu Beach area, Sarmi District, Sarmi Regency.
In the drug raid operation, police seized 15 large clear plastic bags containing marijuana, two medium-sized plastic bags containing marijuana, two small plastic bags containing marijuana, five IDR 100,000 bills, 2 Vivo Y02 mobile phones (light blue and black), 129 small plastic sachets, a small black backpack with red trim, a noken bag bearing the words "Papua Nabire," and two medium-sized black and turquoise plastic bags.
He emphasized that this success was the result of the cooperation and seriousness of his party in taking firm action against the distribution of narcotics, which can harm the younger generation.
"We will not give any space to drug dealers or users in Sarmi. We hope the public will also play an active role in providing information if they become aware of suspected drug trafficking in their neighborhoods," concluded Yulianus
