Inp.polri.go.id - Toba.  The Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Unit of the North Sumatra Regional Police stepped in to ground eight unauthorized drones spotted flying over the F1 Powerboat venue in Balige, North Sumatra.
"These drones disrupt security, privacy, and pose a threat to the smooth conduct of the international event," First Inspector Nur Saleh, the Anti-Drone Task Force Coordinator of the Brimob Unit at the North Sumatra Police, said on Saturday (3/3/2034). He said that grounding the drones was necessary as they violated flight regulations in the designated area set by the organizers,  as reported by antaranews.com. "Such disruptions are not tolerated. The action serves as a warning to potential violators of drone flight regulation ," Chief Nur asserted. The security of the F1 Powerboat World Champtionship involves 1,170 personnel from various agencies, including the I/Bukit Barisan Military Command, North Sumatra Police, traffic departments, Public Order Agency, Regional Disaster Management Agency, and National Search and Rescue Agency.
To enhance security, the North Sumatra Regional Police have installed 40 surveillance cameras (CCTV) and portable CCTV to monitor the F1 Powerboat World Championship on Saturday and Sunday.
