inp.polri.go.id - Pemalang. The Pemalang Sub-regional Police, Central Java, are collaborating with the Pemalang Regency Vocational Training Center (BLK) to provide free job training for unemployed people of working age.

This program represents a concrete step by the police to support the improvement of community skills while simultaneously helping to reduce unemployment.

Pemalang Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Anggaito Hadi Prabowo, stated on Monday (10/26/2026) that they will act as an initiator and facilitator to ensure that those in need can access training tailored to their interests and the skills they wish to develop.

"This is part of the implementation of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief's priority program through the Police Together with the Community vision," he said in Pemalang on Monday (10/27/2026).

The program, titled "Police Care for Unemployment," also demonstrates police's support for the Pemalang Regency Government's efforts to expand employment opportunities and improve community economic independence.

According to Anggaito, efforts to help people acquire skills and job opportunities are part of preventative measures to support the creation of a conducive public order and security.

"Unemployment is correlated with public order and security vulnerabilities, so we are taking preventative measures to create a safe and conducive environment by helping communities become economically independent," he said.

To ensure the program is well-targeted, personnel will go directly to villages and sub-districts to collect data on unemployed. This data collection is expected to reach people who truly need opportunities to improve their skills and prepare for the workforce.

The types of training provided are quite diverse, ranging from sewing and welding techniques, automotive and motorcycle engineering, culinary arts, graphic design, residential air conditioning (AC) technicians, and even Japanese language training as preparation for overseas internships.

Anggaito emphasized that the technical training will be conducted directly by professional instructors from the Pemalang Regency Vocational Training Center (BLK). In this regard, the police play a role in connecting residents with training institutions so they receive the appropriate skills.

"We don't provide technical training ourselves at the vocational training center. We facilitate and collaborate with people so they will be trained directly by professional instructors from the BLK," he explained.

Through the Police Care for Unemployment program, the Pemalang Sub-regional Police hope that more productive-age citizens will have skills, be ready to enter the workforce, and be able to develop economic independence.
