inp.polri.go.id - East Kutai. The East Kutai Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Fauzan Arianto, led the Public Order and Security Analysis and Evaluation (Anev). This Anev meeting served as a strategic forum to discuss developments in the public order and security situation and anticipatory measures to address various emerging issues in the region.

Several local and national issues were highlighted, including the planned demonstration on April 21, 2026, at the East Kalimantan Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) and the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, and the 2026 May Day commemoration by the East Kutai Regency PPMI.

Furthermore, the Anev discussion also hit on the availability of fuel in the East Kutai, which remains secure and sufficient, despite the national price increase in non-subsidized fuel prices.

Based on monitoring results, no panic buying or significant queues at gas stations were found.

On the other hand, several developments were noted, including the high number of forest and land fires (karhutla), which reached 219 cases from January to April 2026. Developments in agrarian conflicts, industrial disputes in the Bengalon region, and updates on strategic programs in the region are also noted.

Superintendent Fauzan Arianto emphasized the importance of early detection and mobilization to address any potential disturbances to public order and security, particularly in the lead-up to the May Day commemoration and planned demonstrations.

"I emphasize to the Intelligence Unit to continue conducting early detection of every situational development, both local and national issues. We must be able to anticipate potential disturbances early on to ensure the situation remains safe and conducive," explained Fauzan on Monday (4/20/2026).

He instructed the Operations Unit to immediately prepare security warrants for May Day demonstrations and commemorations, and requested all police and sector police personnel to prepare strategic measures to maintain security stability in their respective areas.

"Each work unit must immediately conduct an internal analysis and follow up on the results of today's meeting. The priorities must be implemented optimally to ensure our performance is maximized," he said.
