Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Traffic officers implemented a contraflow scheme on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road on Sunday (28/12/2025) to manage heavy congestion during the Christmas return flow toward Jakarta.
“Contraflow was applied under police discretion to break up traffic density and maintain smooth mobility,” said state toll road operator PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol VP Corporate Secretary and Legal Ria Marlinda Paallo, as cited by antaranews.com.
The contraflow has been in effect from KM 55 to KM 47 toward Jakarta since 4.16 pm, following a significant increase in traffic volume from midday to the afternoon. The measure was carried out in coordination with the National Police to ensure road safety and traffic efficiency.
Authorities urged motorists to prepare properly before traveling by ensuring driver fitness, vehicle readiness, sufficient fuel and electronic toll balance, and by following road signs and officers’ instructions on site.
Meanwhile, Jasa Marga recorded 168,614 vehicles returning to the Greater Jakarta area two days post Christmas Day, marking a 15.66 percent increase compared with normal traffic conditions.
