Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the latest escalation of tensions in Yemen, particularly developments in the eastern provinces of Hadramout and Al-Mahra, amid growing security concerns.

“Indonesia is closely following the situation in the Republic of Yemen, including developments in Hadramout and Al-Mahra,” the ministry said in an official statement released on Saturday (27/12/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com

The ministry expressed concern that the rising hostilities could further deteriorate Yemen’s fragile security environment and worsen the humanitarian suffering of its people. The situation has intensified following reported unilateral military movements by Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council, which has made territorial advances in eastern governorates.

International media have also reported the withdrawal of Saudi forces from Aden, southern Yemen, including the headquarters of the Arab coalition that has supported Yemen’s internationally recognized government since 2015. The withdrawal reportedly coincides with increased competition among local groups over strategic eastern regions.
