The General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the JakartaMetro Regional Police has questioned six witnesses in connection with the fatal explosion that took place at a housing project in Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/10/23). "The investigative team is currently questioning six witnesses, including the injured victims," said Senior Superintendent Hengki Haryadi, the General Criminal Investigation Director. This incident claimed one live and injured three people, who were treated at nearby Setiabudi Community Health Center. The body of the the deceased was taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Director Hengki explained that the investigation of the cause of the explosion involved the INP's Criminal Investigation Agency, Forensic Laboratory, Forensic Medicine, Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (INAFIS), as well as the Gegana Bomb Squad of the Jakarta Metro Regional Police. Following an examination of the crime scene, various items were taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta for examination. Rahmat Mulyadi, the Head of Welfare Section of Guntur District, could not confirm whether the explosion was caused by a bomb or another source. (ar/inp/pr/nm)
