Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) have officially named PT Peter Metal Technology (PMT) Director Lin Jingzhang, a Chinese citizen, as a suspect in the radioactive contamination case involving Cesium-137 at the Modern Cikande industrial area in Serang, Banten.

The announcement was made on Thursday (4/12/2205) by Bara Krishna Hasibuan, the Head of Diplomacy and Communication for the Cs-137 Task Force.

“Following an intensive investigation with Bapeten and the Environment Ministry, police have designated Lin Jingzhang as a suspect,” he said, referring to the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency.

Police also issued a travel ban after detecting dangerously high radiation levels, which reached 216 microsieverts per hour on 26 August 2025  and 700 microsieverts per hour on 29 August 2025, at PMT’s furnaces.

PMT, operating from September 2024 to July 2025, processed stainless scrap sourced from 66 suppliers in 2024 and 82 suppliers in 2025, with all finished products exported to China.

Investigators found improperly stored hazardous waste and alleged dumping at a local scrap yard. Forty witnesses have been examined, and Lin faces 3–10 years in prison and an Rp 8 billion fine.
