Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa on Thursday (4/12/2025) predicted that Indonesia’s economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 will slow slightly due to recent disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
“The impact is possible, but growth should remain above 5.5 percent,” he told reporters at the House of Representatives (DPRR) Complex in Jakarta, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Minister Purbaya said the government is monitoring financial system stability and is prepared to inject additional liquidity into the banking sector if needed to keep the economy supported. He also signaled readiness to increase funding for the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) should emergency needs exceed the current allocation.
BNPB currently holds more than Rp 500 billion in ready-to-use funds, but Minister Purbaya confirmed that Additional Budget Allocation (ABT) mechanisms can be used immediately based on field requirements.
He said that fiscal capacity remains strong to cover emergency response, rehabilitation, and potential social protection for affected communities.
