During a case review, the Vice Chief of Central Java Police, Brigadier General Latif Usman highlighted that the police only arrested the rioters, and not the peaceful demonstrators.
According to him, police data recorded that 2,263 people were arrested, consisting of 872 adults and 1,391 children. Meanwhile, 118 people were being processed legally and 72 people were detained.
"The handling is carried out according to applicable legal procedures, to be transparent and accountable. And the most important thing is, what we secured were the rioters and not the demonstrators," he explained, as reported by the radioidola, Friday (9/19/2025).
The Director of Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dwi Subagio, added that his team also arrested the perpetrators of throwing Molotov cocktails in front of the police headquarters on August 29, 2025.
There are two suspects who are suspected of being the perpetrators of throwing Molotov cocktails.
