Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and Turkiye have agreed to draft a roadmap for strengthening long-term industrial cooperation, aiming to make the sector a key driver of economic growth.
“Indonesia will soon prepare an industrial cooperation roadmap with Turkey as a strategic guide to deepen collaboration across multiple sectors,” said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita on Monday (22/9/2025) in a statement after meeting Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir in Istanbul, Turkiye, as reported by antaranews.com
The agreement builds on closer ties marked by President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to Turkiye in April and the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in February, where both nations signed 12 memoranda of understanding across defense, energy, trade, and industry.
Major Turkish companies such as Sanko Holding, Kordsa, and Arcelik have already invested or expanded operations in Indonesia, ranging from tuna processing and composites to home appliances.
The upcoming roadmap will include cooperation in 14 strategic areas, including electric vehicle batteries, textiles, renewable energy, and halal industries.
