inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that his party will continue to prepare traffic engineering strategies for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flows.
According to Sigit, traffic engineering strategies are still considered effective in alleviating potential traffic congestion due to increased vehicle volumes during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flows.
"And of course, we will continue to implement traffic engineering strategies based on existing experience," said Sigit while leading a coordination meeting regarding readiness for Operation Ketupat at the PTIK Building, South Jakarta, Monday (3/2/2026).
Traffic engineering measures that will be implemented during the 2026 Eid homecoming and return flows include one-way traffic, contraflow, regulations at rest areas, and restrictions on three-axle vehicles.
"Issuing warnings and eliminating ticketing, delaying systems at crossings, and traffic diversions are among the measures we will implement," said Sigit.
On the other hand, Sigit emphasized that last year's Eid homecoming and return flow saw approximately IDR 137 trillion in remittances from the central government to the regions. He hopes this year will also see an increase, contributing to economic growth.
"We certainly hope that the security measures for Operation Ketupat 2026 will be maximally successful, so that the multiplier effect on the regional economy will also have a significant impact," Sigit concluded.
