Inp.polri.go.id – South Sumatra. Police is hunting down the perpetrator of 1.2 tons of fuel illegal smuggling in Musi Rawas, South Sumatra.
“The perpetrator of fuel is still on the chase after our member confiscated 1.2 tons of subsidized pertalite and diesel fuel from six cars on Friday October 27th 2023 around 14:20,” says Musi Rawas Sub-regional Pollice Chief, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Danu Agus Purnomo in Musi Rawas on Sunday (10/29/2023).
Danu says that suspect able to run away when police confiscating the 1.2 tons of smuggled fuel. The uncovering of subsidized fuel was done by police following community reports through emergency line.
He also adds that investigation and pursuit on the perpetrator is still on going.
Police is still investigating the case of fuel illegal smuggling and police will charge the suspect with Article 55 of the Oil and Gas Law No. 22 of 2021 which states the misuse of subsidized fuel could be charged with imprisonment of six years maximum and IDR 60 billion fine maximum.
