inp.polri.go.id - Palu. Central Sulawesi Regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate successfully thwarted the circulation of meth of 4.4 kilogram in operations at four different locations in Palu City.
Central Sulawesi Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Djoko Wienartono says that the uncovering of the case begins with a report from the public relating to the drug transaction around Garuda street, North Birobuli.
The operations were held in various steps and successfully secured two suspects with the initials of MF (20) and MZ (47). Meanwhile, one of the suspects, LN (25) was still on the run.
“Our unit immediately moved after we received information from the public. There, during the operation, we arrested the first suspect, MF, in Watusampu on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 15.20 pm. When he was arrested, we found that he was bringing meth,” says Djoko on Friday (4/11/2025).
Following the arrest of MF, police then immediately followed up on the second suspect, MZ, where he later was arrested in a rented house at Garuda street at 19.00 pm on the same day.
“MZ confessed that he acquired the meth from a man with the initials of LN where police later on searched his house in Hayam Wuruk street and found another 11 meth packages in his wardrobe,” add Djoko.
The total evidence successfully secured is 4,412.271 grams of meth. We estimated that a gram of meth can be consumed by five people, which then brings the total lives saved from this operation up to 22,061 people,” conclude Djoko.
The suspects will be charged with article 114 paragraph (2) and Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of life imprisonment and a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion.
