Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang.  The BloraSub-regional  Police will soon conduct raids on illegal oil wells across Blora Regency, Central Java, following a deadly explosion in Dukuh Gendono, Gandu Village, Bogorejo District, on Sunda.

Blora Police Chief Superintendent Wawan Andi Susanto said on Monday (18/8/2025) that his office has coordinated with the Blora Regency and Central Java Regional Police to tighten supervision of unlicensed oil wells.

“We have discussed this with the Regent and will coordinate with the regional police. Enforcement against these community-run wells will be intensified,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com

Police have questioned four local witnesses, while the well owner has not yet been interrogated. The Central Java Police Forensic Lab team will be deployed once the fire is fully extinguished.

Blora Regent Arief Rohman regretted the continued operation of illegal wells, stressing that safety must come first. He urged residents to comply with the new Energy Ministry Regulation No.14/2025 on legalizing community oil wells.
