inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Tangerang Sub-regional City Police have identified the perpetrators of a motor vehicle theft incident involving a shootout with security officers in the Citra Raya area, Tangerang Regency, while the pursuit is ongoing.

The Head of Public Relations for the Tangerang Sub-regional City Police, Second Police Inspector Tri Leksono, stated that the perpetrators' identities were identified based on analysis of CCTV footage from the area around the incident.

"We have identified the perpetrators from CCTV footage," he said in Tangerang on Monday (6/27/2026).

However, the police have not yet revealed the identities of the suspects as the pursuit is still ongoing.

Tri said a joint team from the Panongan Sector Police and the Tangerang Sub-regional City Police Criminal Investigation Unit continues to pursue the perpetrators and will report on the progress of the investigation once the investigation is complete.

According to him, evidence that has been secured includes CCTV footage from the area and a Honda Beat Deluxe motorcycle that the perpetrators failed to flee from.

Meanwhile, the projectiles suspected of being fired by the perpetrators have not yet been found, so investigators are continuing to gather additional evidence to support the investigation.

The case began with a motor vehicle theft that led to a shootout and chase with security officers in the Citra Raya area on Friday (7/24/2026).

The incident then drew public attention after video footage circulated on social media.
