inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police are investigating an alleged robbery captured on CCTV on Tebet Barat Raya Road, Tebet, South Jakarta, on Saturday (8/29/2026) at around 5:35 a.m.

Tebet Sub-regional Police Chief, Police Senior Inspector Ischak, stated that his team had received information about the incident and was currently investigating to determine the chronology and identify the perpetrators.

"Yes, it's currently under investigation," Ischak said when contacted in Jakarta on Monday (8/31/2026).

Police are also still gathering statements from several witnesses who witnessed the incident. The number of witnesses questioned is still being compiled.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage circulating on social media shows two young men being chased by a group of motorcyclists.

The two then went into a grocery store to evade pursuit. However, several of the pursuers were seen entering the market as well. One of them was suspected of carrying a sharp weapon.

In the footage, the motorcycle the two young men were riding was then taken by the pursuing group. They then fled the scene with the motorcycle.

Police are still investigating this case, including identifying the alleged perpetrators, interviewing witnesses, and gathering evidence to fully uncover the sequence of events.
