inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police are investigating information regarding alleged photo manipulation of several female students at 99 Jakarta Junior High School, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Information regarding this allegation has previously circulated widely on social media. A ninth-grade student is suspected of creating and distributing sexually explicit images of their female classmates.

The circulating information indicates that approximately 200 photos were allegedly manipulated. The edited images were also reportedly distributed through a text message group and allegedly sold to other students.

However, this information remains an allegation and has not been fully confirmed by the police.

The Head of Public Relations of the East Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police, Police Senior Inspector Made Budi, confirmed that his office had received information regarding the matter.

The case is currently being investigated by the Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking Unit (PPA and PPO) of the East Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"It's true, we have received that information, and it is currently under investigation by the PPA and the PPO of the East Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police," Made said on Wednesday (9/23/2026).

Made said that to date, there has been no official report from the alleged victim regarding the alleged photo manipulation.

Instead, the police received a different report from a student named as the alleged perpetrator in the alleged case.

According to Made, the student reported himself as the victim of alleged abuse by several of his schoolmates.

"We are still awaiting mediation between the school, the victim, and the alleged perpetrator," he emphasized.

The police are still investigating the circulating information and awaiting mediation between the relevant parties to obtain a more complete picture of the matter.
