inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Regional Police will use WhatsApp in sending the tickets of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) to the violators. The innovation is part of the digitization effort for effectiveness and efficiency.
“Where the tickets of ETLE have been sent through written mail will now be sent through WhatsApp (WA),” says the Traffic Director of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Latif Usman on Friday (1/17/2025).
According to him, the innovation needs to be supported by mobile phone number data from vehicle owners. The Metro Jaya Regional Traffic Directorate itself has so far implemented a policy where the vehicle owner's mobile phone number must be listed during the process of making a Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK).
"Currently, the registered mobile phone number data is the main database for digital ETLE notification for WhatsApp messages," he explained.
In his explanation, Latif says that violators who have received ETLE ticket notifications via WA must clarify via the site http://etle-pmj.id. Furthermore, violators must fill in several data on the website starting from the vehicle registration number, mobile phone number, reference code, and so on.
"When the various data has been entered correctly, the person concerned will get a Briva number or payment code that must be paid," he said.
