inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Metro Jaya Regional Police will add another unit of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) to 50 from the previous 40.

The Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Latif Usman says that with the increasing number of ETLE units, the police set the target of 120 million violators to get captured every year.

“Hopefully in 2025, we can also add another 40 units of ETLE Mobile, so as I have said, on average we can capture around 10 million violators,” says Latif on Friday (1/17/2025).

Latif adds that the law enforcement through ETLE must continue to be optimized as the cause of traffic accidents in Jakarta often due to traffic violations. 

According to the data, the number of traffic accidents in Jakarta during 2024 reached 12,555 cases. Of that number, 677 road users died and 1,794 were seriously injured.

"This is a concern for us that if we calculate it, it means that everyday, at least two people died in Jakarta," he said.
