inp.polri.go.id - Bandar Lampung. Lampung Regional Police uncovered a case of counterfeiting Pertalite by replacing the type of fuel oil with crude oil.
This case was uncovered, after police received information following a report of damaged vehicles due to refueling at one of the public fuel filling stations (SPBU) in Central Lampung.
"In this case, we have secured the driver and assistant who were driving the car containing Pertamina's fuel," said the Director of Special Crimes of the Lampung Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dery Agung Wijaya on Wednesday (5/7/2025).
From the two suspects, it was revealed that the Pertalite fuel oil, taken from the Pertamina depot, was replaced with crude oil that had been prepared by the two suspects in an empty field, Tanjung Bintang area.
After replacing the fuel, the two suspects headed to the gas station in the hope that the crude oil would be mixed in the gas station.
Dery added that the perpetrators had turned off the GPS installed in the car, then they made sure the seal on the car was still in good condition so that the gas station would not be suspicious when the crude oil was put into the container.
For their actions, the two suspects will be charged with Article 54 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Natural Gas (Oil and Gas Law) with a penalty of 6 years in prison and a fine of IDR 60 billion.
