inp.polri.go.id - Purworejo. The Central Java Regional Police are investigating the cause of the fatal accident involving a sand-laden truck and public transportation that killed 11 people on the Magelang-Purworejo route border.

The Central Java Regional Police Traffic Director, Senior Superintendent Pratama Adhyasastra says that according to the initial crime scene investigation, the police have not found any brake marks on the sand-laden truck.

"However, as of now we are still investigating the case. What is clear to the naked eye is that the truck was traveling from north to south," said Pratama.

At the location, police draw the conclusion that the truck swerved and was about to overtake the transport vehicle.

According to him, the truck was actually not allowed to overtake because the road markings did not allow it as it is a straight line.

"Did the brakes fail or did he not have time to brake? We are still investigating," said Pratama.
