Police Uncovers Illegal Gold Mining in West Lombok, a Foreigner Arrested as Suspect

inp.polri.go.id - Mataram. A foreign nationals with the initials of LHF become one of the two suspects in the illegal gold mining case in Sekotong, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the NTB Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Fx. Endriadi, confirmed the suspects in the illegal mining case.

"Yes, we have named two suspects, one of whom is a foreigner," he explained, as reported by Antaranews, Friday (1/9/2026).

He explained that LHF is a suspect along with a local with the initials ER. The two are suspected of collaborating in the illegal mining activity.

Suspect LHF acted as the person who ordered the mining without a permit, and ER was the executor of the mining in Sekotong.

Endriadi stated that, following the suspect's name, investigators have questioned LHF and ER as suspects.

Furthermore, the police stated that the case files for the two suspects have been completed and are now being reviewed by the prosecutor. "We are awaiting the prosecutor's results," he concluded.
