inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Forestry reported that the potential area for rehabilitation as part of disaster management reached 49,197 hectares, with the largest area in North Sumatra.

The Director of Forest Rehabilitation at the Directorate General of Watershed Management and Forest Rehabilitation (PDASRH) of the Ministry of Forestry, M. Saparis Soedarjanto, stated that his office was assessing the potential for forest rehabilitation in areas affected by floods and landslides in three provinces in Sumatra.

"The potential area for forest rehabilitation for disaster management in Aceh is 9,876 ha, in North Sumatra 36,271 ha, and in Sumber 3,050 ha," said Director Saparis on Friday (1/9/2026).

Previously, his office also identified several forest rehabilitation areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

According to a report from the Agam Kuantan Watershed Management Center (BPDAS) in West Sumatra, one hectare of rehabilitation area was affected by the disaster.

Furthermore, the Asahan Barumun Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPDAS) in North Sumatra reported that a 10-hectare area in Singgalang Village, part of the 2024 planting site, was also affected by the disaster.

In the Krueng Aceh BPDAS area, a 280-hectare area planted in 2025 and another 40 hectares planted in 2024 at a different location were also affected.

This data is the result of rapid identification from November 28 to December 10, 2025, and is subject to change with new additions.
