inp.polri.go.id - Cilegon. The Banten Regional Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate inspected a location suspected of being used as a fuel storage facility on South Lingkar Road, Deringo Village, Citangkil District, Cilegon City.

The inspection was conducted on Monday (9/28/2026), after police had previously monitored the location using a drone.

Banten Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, stated that aerial surveillance was conducted to assess the condition of the location before officers conducted a direct inspection.

"We conducted aerial surveillance using a drone, then continued with a direct inspection of the location," said Maruli, Tuesday (9/29/2026).

During the inspection, officers found several empty containers suspected of having been used to store fuel. 

"From the inspection at the location, we found several containers, including jerry cans, drums, and small tanks, but all were empty. We also found no people or activity at the location," he explained.

The recovered items consisted of approximately seven empty jerry cans, 10 empty drums, and two small tanks. Police found no people or activity at the location during the inspection.

The Banten Regional Police encourage the public to participate in monitoring fuel distribution by reporting any suspected misuse in their neighborhoods.

According to Maruli, information from the public can be the first step for the police to conduct investigations and take legal action.
