Polls Shows That People Are Satisfied With The Service in This Year’s Homecoming Trip

inp.polri.go.id – The Indonesian Political Indicators Survey Institute stated that the Indonesian people were satisfied with the securing and handling of the homecoming and return flows for Eid Al-Fitr 2022 by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the National Police (Polri). This community satisfaction is reflected in the results of a survey conducted from 5 to 10 May 2022, where 73.8% of Indonesians are satisfied with the handling of homecoming trip. The Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, revealed that in the survey, 61.2% of the people were quite satisfied with the handling of this year's homecoming. "The result shows 12.6% are very satisfied, 61.2% are quite satisfied, 6.8% are not satisfied, 1.1% are not satisfied at all, and 18.3% are abstain," said Burhanuddin in the release of the survey results in virtual broadcasts, Jakarta, Sunday (15/5/2022). The reasons people are satisfied with the handling of the homecoming flow is that 30% of them said that they can celebrate Eid in their hometown. Then, 27.9% of them said they were happy because they could celebrate Eid together with their family again. Other 17,6% said that they are happy because the situation start to become normal again and 6,2% of them are satisfied with the traffic infrastructure and transportations that becomes better. The other 3,4% said that it also gives benefit to the economic sector. Furthermore, the 3,4% of them just simply said that this Eid is much more sweeter than last year, and 1,9% of them said that the vaccination makes them feel safe. Then, 6,4% answered others and 3,1% are abstain. Burhanuddin emphasized that the community's satisfaction was because this year the Government allowed people to go home after two years of a homecoming ban due to the Covid-19 pandemic. "Public support for easing movement restrictions so that they can go home has reached more than 91.3%, and 73.8% of residents are satisfied with the government's performance in handling the homecoming traffic flow this year," said Burhanuddin. In this released survey, Indicator uses the telephone contact method to respondents. The target population of this survey is Indonesian citizens aged 17 years and over or already married and owns a telephone/cellphone, about 83% of the total national population. The sample selection was done through the random digit dialing (RDD) method. RDD is a technique of selecting a sample through a random telephone number generation process. With the RDD technique, a sample of 1228 respondents was selected through a random telephone number generation process, validation, and screening. The survey margin of error is estimated at around 2.9% at the 95% confidence level, assuming simple random sampling. Interviews with respondents were conducted by telephone by trained interviewers.
